1. Bible Centered Teaching and Preaching

We value and recognize the place of authority the divinely inspired Word of God should have in the things taught here at PVBC. It is through God’s Word that we are made aware of the truths God desires for all men to know and practice. (Acts 2:42; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17)

 

2. Prayer

We commit ourselves firmly to the privilege of prayer, our means of communication with Almighty God. We know that God both hears and answers prayer. Prayer shapes the current ministries we carry on, and will shape any future changes at all stages of change. (Matthew 7:7-11; Acts 2:42)

 

3. Praise and Worship

We value the authentic celebration of our God through music, prayer, giving, verbal testimony, service in the church, and observation of the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper and baptism. We believe worship should take place on both an individual and corporate level.  (Psalm 150:6; Acts 2:47; Romans 12:1, 2; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

 

4. Godly Leadership

We value men and women who have proven themselves worthy of leadership in the church according to the standards set in God’s Word. We desire to set in place leaders capable of preparing us for the work of the ministry and maturity in Christ. (1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:6-9; Ephesians 4:11-16)

 

5. Missions

We value being able to send out and support both financially and prayerfully faithful men and women to take the Gospel where we ourselves might not have opportunity. We count it a privilege and necessity to support both foreign missions and home missions within the United States. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 1:8; 13:1-3; 14:26-28)

 

6. Biblical Fellowship

We value Biblical fellowship that has the purpose of maturing believers in Jesus Christ. We recognize that Biblical fellowship is maintained through obedience to God’s Word.  Biblical fellowship includes such Biblical teachings as encouragement, guidance, teamwork, unity, compassion, people, commitment, and authenticity. (Acts 2:42; Ephesians 4:1-4; Philippians 1:27; Hebrews 13:1; James 1:22, 27)

 

7. Evangelism *

We value the sowing of the seed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are unsaved, unchurched, and lost in the darkness of sin. We believe this must be done on both an individual and corporate level. (Matthew 9:37-38; 13:1-23; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; 2:47)
